About this Event

This year we celebrate the 30th year of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and while we have come a long way, we still have a long way to go. We will turn up the heat by interrogating what it means to be Black and disabled in 2020? We will flip the script and talk about how we believe our lives would be completely different without this landmark legislation.

We all must work to change the perception of disability. We all must challenge our thoughts and prejudice, and we all must think about what we can do to build a more inclusive society for all. We will learn about the impact of stigma, disability disclosure, and the importance of Intersectionality: The Oppression and Discrimination, resulting from the overlap of an individual's social identities.

Join us for some Real Talk.
